Colby Richardson is a media artist and experimental filmmaker currently based in Toronto ON, Canada. A/V Performance

2019, 2020, 2021
DIMMER SWITCH is a performance for sound and light which takes advantage of the inability of compact fluorescent light bulbs to properly dim. Guitar cables are placed near and inside of the flickering fluorescent coils to sonify the electrical bursts. The dimmer switches sculpt the pulsing and shrieking amplification of the malfunctioning bulbs, finding frequencies and rhythm within the chaos.

Dimmer Switch was included in Send + Receive v22 - 2020
As part of All Tomorrow’s Oceans featuring performances by Carl Stone and Akaihirume, Xuan Ye, and Sara Jo Kirsch.
